Scott Martin Hello , I worked for Dowlen Construction painting for over 25 years and as a trim carpenter for around 5 years. I studied mechanical engineering and business at Chattanooga State. I enjoy photography, hiking and camping with my wife and wood working. I am married and we live in the city of Red Bank even though our mailing address is Hixson. I have attended Oakwood Baptist Church in Chattanooga since 2004 with my wife. We were married there in 2006.

When looking for home improvements contractor , watch out for companies who states they pre-screen contractors for you. All these companies do, is to get your referral to as many contractors they can that pay them for the service. They sell leads to the contractors who are listed with them and collect huge fees, $25-$30 a lead even if they do not get the job. This can add hundreds of dollars to the final cost. Just think about it this way. Someone has to pay in the end and it's going to be you. Your cost will be for your lead and others where they did not get the job And since they really don't pre-screen the contractors why not save yourself some money and call up the companies yourself.
